PayPal is the market leading digital payment method in
both the UK and DE. Scholz and Friends were asked to pitch for a summer campaign. The campaign’s goal would be to help PayPal build culture relevance and brand attribution with the work they create.
Our approach is simple. PayPal is the enabler of the moment, not the moment itself. Our work focused on building emotional connections with Gen Z.
We created PayPal it your way. However you choose to live your life. PayPal lets you do it, your way.
My role was as Creative Director, overseeing the pitch process, creative development, production and rollout of activations.
We created films for two markets. UK and DE. The films were also adapted for global use. We also built a suite of OOH/Headlines to be used in outdoor and digital placements, which involved an extensive design tool kit for the work.
The campaign also extended to Lollapalooza, Pride and a TikTok HTC.

Social was a big component of this campaign with a sizeable paid media budget. As this was a campaign driven to speak
to Gen Z we want to keep communication fun, upbeat and positive. We also used social to tease the film releases.
The campaign also extended to Lollapalooza, Pride and a TikTok HTC. (you can see these in my other case studies)
